MLT's Soldier Summit is a recreation of the joint rail operation of the Utah Railroad and Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad through Carbon County and over the Wasach Mountains to Provo, Utah, just South of Salt Lake City. Era: mid 1990's.

The route starts in Provo with the combined yards of Union Pacific, DRGW and Utah RR, where the RR's interchange coal traffic. Industrial spurs, locomotive and car shops are found in the area. Going South out of Provo, the route travels through rural areas in the Great Salt Lake Basin towards "Grassy Pass" now called "Soldier Summit" following State Highway 6 all the way to Price, Utah. The terrain changes from high plains grassland to desert beyond Price. At Helper can be found a large DRGW yard where many trains gather and layover at the base of the 2.4% grade. Next to Helper at Martin is the main yard and maintenance center of the Utah RR.
