CPR Shuswap Sub, circa 1968.
"Shuswap" is a native North American term for
"shimmering waters". The large lake in the British
Columbia interior is a common backdrop on this picturesque
route. The Shuswap route starts at the crew change point in
Revelstoke, B.C. at the end of
the Mountain Sub, crosses the Columbia River and climbs over Eagle
Pass with its thick coniferous forest and heavy winter snow
loads. The CPR "Last Spike" location of
Craigellachie is found in this area commemorating the completion of
the Canadian Pacific Railway transcontinental route. The route
continues past Sicamous along the Shuswap Lake, then takes a
shortcut over Notch Hill and back down to water level along the
South Thompson River, which is almost desert, into Kamloops, B.C.
This add-on pack was carefully
assembled to help maintain MSTS performance levels and the visual and
dynamic sound quality made available by Maple Leaf Tracks.
Shuswap comes complete ready to run, and requires no
