Cascades Crossing recreates the operations of the Southern Pacific Railroad in Oregon during the early 1990's. The route spans 220 miles of mainline from the rail centers of Eugene and Klamath Falls, Oregon. Between these two locations lay some very challenging stretches of railway, including a 52 mile stretch of steep mountain territory with plenty of bridges, countless tunnels, and helper locomotives. The terrain on this route is truly fascinating. In the west you have both urban and rolling farmland. As you move east, you get into heavy coniferous forest. Then, after passing Cascade Summit, you turn south toward Klamath Falls. The scenery turns from heavy coniferous, to a spotted pine forest, to almost desert-like terrain as the railway moves through the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains. This add-on pack contains some of the most detailed and largest quantity of rolling stock we have ever added to any package. Also, this package contains some new cutting-edge technologies including dynamic track audio and long range signals, viewable out to 2000 meters (1.25 miles). Cascades Crossing comes completely ready to run, and requires no extra downloading or installations. Some of the products features are listed below: |
